George R. R. Martin released a preview chapter from The Winds of Winter. It doesn’t resolve any of the big cliffhangers from Dance, but it does clarify some things. (You can find my own thoughts on A Dance With Dragons here: 1, 2, 3)

Staying on gender issues, an article on the attractiveness of the male body (via Andrew Sullivan). Given the extent to which women have been objectified throughout history, a little turnabout seems appropriate. And as someone who has trouble viewing his own body positively, it’s nice to have this perspective illuminated.
Mitt Romney runs an ad on the Spreading Santorum site. It’s just a quirk of Google Ads, but it’s still funny.
I clicked on a link on Shawn Elliot’s twitter feed. Normally this is a mistake. But this time, it led to a very cute video of tiny goats.

And lastly, I love Bastion, and this is a great performance of two of its haunting songs that I just can’t get out of my head:
